Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Prediction & Behavior ML

The Prediction & Behavior ML team at Zoox is responsible for creating machine-learned models that comprehend the entire scene around the vehicle and forecast behavior for other agents, the Zoox vehicle itself, and various offline applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on deep learning algorithms that learn behaviors from data and apply them both on-vehicle and in offline scenarios.

As a Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will:

• Develop innovative algorithms for modeling future behavior of all agents in the environment
• Create algorithms for predicting the Zoox vehicle's actions and estimating their quality
• Apply generative deep learning to enhance simulation realism for offline validation
• Build foundation models for both on-vehicle and offline applications
• Utilize large-scale machine learning infrastructure to push the boundaries of the field
• Engineer efficient, real-time software for on-vehicle execution
• Develop metrics and tools for error analysis and system improvement
• Collaborate closely with Perception, Planning, and Simulation teams

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science or a related field, with extensive experience in deep learning, production ML pipelines, and algorithm design. Proficiency in C++ or Python (with C++ understanding) is required, along with robust mathematics skills.
