The Mission Planner team is responsible for creating sophisticated routing systems that enable vehicles to transport passengers to their destinations effectively. You'll collaborate closely with Cloud Services for handling pick-up and drop-off requests and integrating real-time traffic data. The role involves working with decision-making and trajectory planning teams to implement dynamic planning capabilities.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer - Mission Planning

  • Develop mission planner algorithms, including graph search and integration with behavioral planning
  • Integrate and test developed applications in the robot, learn and make improvements
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support the integration of software components
  • Set the short and long term technical direction for the team
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Mission Planning, Behavioral Planning and Cloud Services teams

Requirements For Software Engineer - Mission Planning

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field
  • Programming skills in C++
  • Understanding and experience with graph search techniques (A*, D*, Dijkstra)
  • Demonstrated ability to write code for a shipped product
  • Ability to work on multiple layers of the autonomous driving compute stack
  • At least 8 years of industry experience
