Description For Product Support Engineer II

Zscaler, a leading enterprise security company, is seeking a Product Support Engineer II to join their Global Customer Support team. This role involves providing second-line support, debugging complex security and network problems, and working closely with Engineering to resolve customer issues. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in support engineering for networking or web security products, with expertise in various operating systems, network protocols, and security technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing phone and email consultation for complex security/network issues
  • Collaborating with Engineering for testing and troubleshooting
  • Reproducing and documenting customer issues
  • Contributing to training programs and mentoring other engineers
  • Understanding product direction and contributing to product improvements

Required skills:

  • Experience with Linux, Unix, and FreeBSD
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and protocols
  • Knowledge of web server administration (Apache, IIS)
  • Familiarity with network security concepts and enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience with network analyzers, VPN technologies, and authentication systems

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent certifications
  • Zscaler product experience
  • Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python)

Requirements For Product Support Engineer II

Linux
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as Support Engineer/Sr. Support Engineer
  • Experience with Linux, Unix, and FreeBSD
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues
  • Knowledge of HTTP, SMTP, FTP, DNS protocols
  • Working knowledge of Apache and IIS Web Server administration
  • Familiarity with network protocol analyzers, network security, authentication systems, and VPN technologies
