Senior Backend Engineer

The Engineering team at Zscaler is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Platform team. Reporting to the local Manager of Software Engineering, you'll be responsible for designing and developing new requirements, building and maintaining robust backend services and APIs, implementing automated validation processes, and leading investigations involving backend services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing new requirements from the PM team
• Building, deploying, and maintaining robust backend services and APIs
• Implementing automated validation processes to ensure system integrity and reliability
• Leading investigations and escalations involving backend services in collaboration with other teams

The ideal candidate should have:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with at least 3 years in Java, building high-scale backend systems
• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field, or graduate of a technical unit in the IDF
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with AWS and its different services, including EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, and others
• Experience with SaaS platforms and CI/CD methodologies

Preferred qualifications include:

• Familiarity with Software testing methodology
• Knowledge of Databricks, Apache Spark, or related frameworks
• Experience in the cybersecurity industry
