Zscaler, the world's largest cloud security platform, is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join their Business Insights Software Development team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Engineering, you'll be responsible for developing distributed data applications involving data mining, transformations, enrichment, and analytics. You'll analyze complex datasets related to workplace and application usage, translate findings into actionable insights, and work with product managers and UX designers to understand requirements. The role involves leading and mentoring junior engineers, refactoring code for maintainability, and seizing opportunities to improve the platform.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop distributed data applications for data mining, transformations, and analytics • Analyze complex datasets on workplace and application usage • Translate data findings into actionable insights and recommendations • Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to understand and implement requirements • Refactor code for maintainability and reusability • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers
Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in software development and data analytics applications • Strong experience in Java programming for developing microservices • Proficiency with data science tools (Python, TensorFlow, SQL) and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) • Experience with Cloud big data technologies (Azure Data Explorer, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, S3)
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques • Experience with large-scale telemetry data analytics • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams • Published research or contributions to the data analytics community
