Sr. Staff Security Engineer

Zscaler, the world's largest security cloud operator, is seeking a Sr. Staff Security Engineer to join their Federal environments team. Founded in 2007, Zscaler serves thousands of enterprise customers, including 40% of Fortune 500 companies, through their AI-powered Zero Trust Exchange platform. The role involves designing and implementing advanced security detection and monitoring solutions, with a focus on Elastic Stack (ELK) implementation, detection engineering, and incident response.

The position requires an active Secret Security Clearance and will start remote, with eventual relocation to Boston, MA. You'll be reporting directly to the CSIRT/SOC Director and will be responsible for implementing ELK-based security monitoring systems, developing detection rules, managing security event monitoring, and conducting threat hunting activities.

The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of security engineering experience, strong proficiency in Elastic Stack, and cloud security tools. Additional preferred qualifications include certifications like GCDA or CISSP, and expertise in automation using Python or PowerShell.
