As a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, you'll be part of a team that has built and continues to enhance the world's largest cloud security platform, protected by more than 100 patents. You'll work alongside cloud architects, software engineers, and security experts, focusing on developing and managing infrastructure automation for federal, regulated, and sovereign cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include improving CI/CD system security, automating change management processes, and defining DevOps standards. You'll also be instrumental in automating new cloud build-outs and ensuring compliance with federal guidelines. The role requires expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools, programming languages like Go, and experience with public cloud platforms.

Responsibilities For Sr. Staff Software Engineer
- Develop and manage shared infrastructure automation for US federal, regulated, and sovereign cloud environments
- Improve security of CI/CD systems and automate change management processes
- Define and enforce DevOps standards, best practices, and procedures across the engineering team
- Automate the build-out of new Zscaler clouds and create delivery mechanisms for operational collateral
- Participate in on-call rotation to support a highly available engineering platform
Requirements For Sr. Staff Software Engineer
- 5+ years of experience in commercial services development and working with public cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible and skilled in programming languages such as Go
- Expertise in designing, analyzing, and resolving issues in large-scale distributed systems
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, IT, or an equivalent field
