Description For Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal)

Zscaler, the world's largest cloud security platform, is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal) for their ZPA team. This role requires a Secret Security Clearance and an Information Assurance Technician Level 2 Certification (obtainable within the first few weeks).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing operational tasks for FedRAMP cloud products
  • Managing cloud infrastructure components (AWS GovCloud, private cloud, containers, VMs)
  • Developing operations documentation and implementing incident prevention measures

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of SRE experience
  • Experience with FedRAMP authorization levels
  • Linux administration and network troubleshooting skills
  • Coding experience (preferably Python)
  • Expertise in container-based architectures

Responsibilities For Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal)

  • Oversee operational tasks for FedRAMP cloud products
  • Manage cloud infrastructure components (AWS GovCloud, private cloud, containers, VMs)
  • Develop operations documentation
  • Handle escalations and implement measures to prevent recurring incidents
  • Contribute to DevOps best practices
  • Participate in regular deployment sync meetings and operational hand-offs

Requirements For Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal)

  • 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
  • Experience with High/Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels
  • Hands-on experience with Linux administration and basic network troubleshooting
  • Coding experience (preferably Python)
  • Expertise in container-based architectures (AWS ECS / Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of virtualization, cloud architecture, and web security
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • Information Assurance Technician Level 2 Certification (can be obtained within first few weeks)
