Staff Software Development Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Customer Reliability Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

• Developing solutions and observability tools for early detection and prevention of cloud and customer issues
• Working as a Customer Reliability Engineer (CRE) and partnering with other engineering teams to lead reliable solutions that guide industry-leading reliability of the Zscaler Cloud
• Collaborating with product management to align technical strategies with company goals and contribute to the product roadmap

To excel in this role, you should have:

• 8+ years of experience in Software Development and QA engineering
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Linux
• Experience with network security products and good knowledge of technologies like firewall, VPN, Data protection, and L4-L7 Networking Protocols
• Experience developing automation for troubleshooting and monitoring purposes

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience delivering products as cloud-based services and troubleshooting/evaluating critical customer issues
• Experience engaging technical teams to discuss use cases, review feature/function requirements, and define solutions
