I was searching for any red flags in a company with 5K-10K employees. I'm uncertain if it varies depending on the organization or team I might join. However, I wanted to get a general sense. I've been reviewing GlassDoor and Blind, but I also wanted to gather insights from the Taro community.
I don't have any super close friends there, but I've only heard good things about the engineering culture. Snowflake hires a lot of people from FAANG and is definitely on that level.
They also pay incredibly well. There was an engineer from the Taro community that went to Snowflake and got a junior-level offer that was equal to mid-level offers from FAANG. Snowflake gets top talent for sure.
Side note: I've been buying Snowflake stock on the dip as it's been struggling with the security breach fallout. 📈 It's a good company that I believe in.
There are a few people from Snowflake you could connect with here: https://www.jointaro.com/networking/?selectedCompanies=Snowflake
If you're interviewing with them, my advice would be to ask the recruiter to put you in touch with Senior ICs at the company. These folks will generally be more direct (honest) than recruiters or managers.
My perception of Snowflake is very positive. It has top talent and is used by almost all of the Fortune 100. I believe they're a very sales-focused organization, at least moreso than FAANG, and that probably has cultural consequences that you should be careful of.
