Does anyone have any insights on how much better their application to interview rate was after having an internship on their resume?
I currently only have unpaid startup experience and i got 5/100 interviews this cycle, but it felt extremely luck based and easily couldve been 0/100.
I'm about to do a SWE internship at Notion and wondering if things genuinely become way easier (assume I'm able to write about real impact I made at Notion).
It's easily going to be 2x better at the minimum. Of course, this doesn't mean that it'll become easy (especially in this market), and it's important to remember that going from 1/100 to 2/100 is a 2x improvement that is genuinely meaningful (it's an extra dozen interviews after 1200 applications, and many new grads will need to send 1k+ applications).
Notion is one of the best companies out there right now, so you'll have a massive leg up on a huge portion of the competition. Congrats on getting such a great opportunity!
Of course, the ideal outcome is that you just don't need to interview at all due to getting a return offer from Notion. Follow the advice here to do that: The Software Engineer Internship Survival Guide
