Moving Summer internship to Spring

I was very fortunate to have received internship offers from both Meta and Microsoft for summer 2025.

Would it be better to:

  • try asking the recruiter to move Microsoft intern offer to spring 2025
  • send a very polite email reneging Microsoft internship opportunity

Based on what I've seen, Microsoft historically has very rarely offered to move a summer internship to another season. I was wondering if it would still be worth asking the recruiter.

Wait, did you already accept both offers? It's only reneging if you said "Yes" and then need to change it to "No".

Regardless, I would try to see if the Microsoft internship can be moved (butter them up and say that you're very excited to work with the team and all that). If not, just politely decline and hopefully Meta pans out.

The way I see it, there's nothing stopping you from trying to have it all. 2 Big Tech internships would put you far ahead of like 90% of students.

what else do you have going on in the Spring? If you have coursework or projects you're pursuing during the academic year, I would focus on that.

You already have a great Meta internship lined up. No need to try and cram both internships in.
