I know to some this may come as a shock.
But I've just been this way since I was a young'un
I don't have to look at the keyboard (unless it's a password) but I just wanted to get it off my chest.

9 months agoSenior SWE, Manager at GoogleI type weird... my right hand covers 60% of the keyboard while my left hand sticks to asdf area.
I remember hearing something like "average typing speed for software engineers when they are working is about 5 characters / minute" or something like that, because most of the time we are reading code rather than writing new ones.
Who knows, maybe one day we can code w/ just a mouse, a voice input, and a AI code generator.
