Hi everyone, my name is Aiden and I’m currently interning at a bank as a software engineer. I’m have switched major from biomedical science to computer science and currently in the process of getting the degree. I am self taught and looking for internships at MAANG company. As I am very new and have little knowledge in terms of growing in my career. I will appreciate any mentorship I can receive from this amazing community. I also enjoy getting to know new people happy to chat with anyone. Feel free to reach out :)
First, I recommend this course (it's Meta-specific, but a lot of the advice is generic): Nail Your Return Offer As A Meta Software Engineer Intern
We'll be making a more general intern course over the coming weeks as well, which will be much higher quality.
Your primary goal right now should be to lock in that return offer. Getting quality mentors within the company will help a lot with that, and I recommend following the advice here to make yourself attractive to mentors to pick up as a mentee: "How does one attract a sponsor who is invested in their growth?"
You can look for friendly coffee chats and mentorship from Taro Networking as well: https://www.jointaro.com/networking/?selectedServices=Mentorship
Thank you, Alex
Brian Jenney is also worth a follow since you switched from biomedical science to CS: Break Into Tech And Become A Software Engineer
His course covers tips around productivity, networking, and building in public.
Thank you, Rahul
