- Pretty much every company will increase your pay after getting promoted.
- It varies from company to company how the increase works. Some will be more ad-hoc and others have turned it into math
- Startups/very small companies will be ad-hoc
- Big companies will have it be math
- IMHO, math is better as it's inherently more fair
